DING LING 丁澪

a photo of Ding

DING LING is an artist, experimental filmmaker and curator. Using poetic image, performance, writing, installation and experimental theatre as the main mediums of expression, Ding metaphorically transforms the elements of nature into the experience of life, re-examining the dialectical relationship between life and death, seeking projections of love, death and consciousness, and incorporating the emotional projections of breakthroughs, elapse, and trembling into the unconventional narratives of film and theatre. Expressing the critical spirit to break through confinement, remeasuring and reshaping the value of the exploration of society and the era.

Influenced by Nihilism and Taoist Philosophy, Ding's creations are rooted in observations and reflections on life experiences and cultural backgrounds. Going inwards is an inner exploration and self-observation; going outwards, after reaching the void, we still have the wide power to question to life.
