In the AcrossRCA project, I am primarily responsible for researching and analyzing the pollution of rivers in different cities under the climate crisis, as well as participating in the design of game cards. During the collaboration, the diverse design ideas and perspectives of team members made me realize the limitations of my own concepts and ways of thinking. It also prompted me to begin considering that the impact of a design on the outside world should not only be the designer's self-perception, but also the significance of the design itself to the external world, bringing about sustainable creation.
Climate is crucial for the sustainable survival of humanity. In the current sophisticated urban context, we need to be vigilant against the forces of natural healing and degradation, maintaining a sense of responsibility and boundaries towards the world. Design is not just a combination of aesthetics and functionality, but also a guidance and influence on society, environment, and human life. As a designer, I need to further contemplate whether there is a profound meaning in design and how to bring about sustainable creation through design.
