The core of this project revolves around the design of apparel and accessories.When Midjourney generated "people doing housework", the photos we got were women wearing sexy underwear doing housework in a seductive posture.
Behind this observation, we find that women in domestic labor are perceived as sexual objects, while also being exploited in reproductive activities. There exists a complex relationship between female identity, domestic labor, and the family environment.
Therefore, I focused t on the design of stockings as a study of male aesthetics and the motivations of the AI gaze.Stockings are not just a decoration in our project, they are more like a representation of some kind of objectified woman, which can be used as a symbol to express desire.
When we look at the marks and scars on women's bodies , we are essentially reading their stories, stories that speak of silent dedication . Through this project, we hope to break traditional gender stereotypes and reconsider women's roles and identities in the family. We believe that through such exploration, we can inspire recognition and respect for women's labor, while also creating a more inclusive and equitable social environment for our common future.
