Hygiene: According to our preliminary research, the environmental pollution of the London Underground is extremely serious. These seats were the most commonly identified aspect of poor hygiene, and the District, Jubilee, Northern, Circle, Piccadilly, Metropolitan and Hammersmith, and City lines are indeed never cleaned. Acts of care for each other can often reflect acts of care towards our environment. In the case of these seats, care is inconsistent as TFL will partially replace seat covers which in turn exposes the dirtiness of uncared for seats. This aspect of the guerilla campaign is a play on TFLs own request for acts of care: SEE IT. SAY IT. SORTED. Instead, we satirise this ridiculous phenomenon, jokingly mocking TFL’s “contribution” to seat cleaning.
