Riya Mahajan

Profile picture

Riya is a visual designer and 3D artist from the MA Digital Direction cohort at the Royal College of Art. Her practice is heavily influenced by her previous graphic design education from the National Institute of Design, India. She worked at some of India's leading communication design studios and eventually transitioned into an independent freelancer — some of her clients include Adobe, Microsoft, Inspirit and ShowStudio.

Currently, Riya's work focuses on merging her visual design skillset with new mediums and technology to create impactful and engaging communication. Her work spans Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, 3D and Interactive design. At the RCA, she is collaborating with Snapchat to create meaningful experiences that transcend the boundaries of what has been explored in AR. Her other team project, a VR-based interactive experience that addresses the issue of marine pollution and its effect on whales, was showcased at the IRCAM forum in Paris and the SXSW conference in Austin, Texas.
