Minghao Sun

At my first exhibition at Carrousel du Louvre, Paris, presenting my work 'Me in a Shoehorn'.

I began my art and design education in August 2017 at Virginia Tech, earning a Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in Industrial Design by May 2023. My studies included a pivotal exchange at DIS Copenhagen, focusing on Architecture, Art Furniture, and Existentialism from December 2021 to May 2022. In August 2024, I completed my Master of Arts in Product Design at the Royal College of Art in London. This journey across continents and disciplines reflects my dedication to integrating art, design, and architecture.

Art and design are essential to my life, fueled by my fascination with wood's unique aesthetic and vitality. My architectural background enriches my approach to space and structure, allowing me to create wood sculptures that explore and expand our perception of form. The pieces I created not only draw inspiration from the natural world but also showcase my deep appreciation for wood as a medium for artistic expression. As an artist, designer, and maker, I focus on crafting engaging works that resonate with nature and contemporary themes, emphasizing the interplay between spatial awareness and artistic creativity.
