Lucy Bishop

I am a Textiles student specialising in mixed media. I enjoy combining print, dye techniques and embroidery processes to create multi-layered surfaces. I am inspired by the subtleties around me in life and nature, finding beauty in what could be overlooked or under appreciated. I enjoy working in a multidisciplinary way, combining multiple ways of thinking and unconventional materials. I am interested in language, social interactions, and how we can find deeper meaning within fleeting, seemingly insignificant events. I wanted to link my interests to the theme of care through Across RCA. I enjoyed exploring how we could show care through design as part of a vibrant group of students from varied disciplines. We were able to combine different ways of thinking to enrich ideas, exploring society, empathy and emotional experience linked to colour and space.
