Kanto Ohara Maeda

Kanto is a Japanese animator and artist, raised in the UK. Graduating from Steiner Education and an undergraduate degree in architecture (University of Edinburgh), he is currently defining his own artistic practice as an animation director, on the Animation MA at the Royal College of Art.

His latest animated short film, Poco a Poco, about the memory of a duck, made using coffee grounds, was recently screened at Brighton International Animation Festival (Special Mention), and Athens Animfest. He also won Best New Media at the Architecture Film Festival London 2021, with Uwais Hafizal, for their film, Humanitas Ex Machina.
