Jiayan Diao is an artist and woven textile designer who is currently based in both London and China. She obtained her BA (Hons) in Textile Design from Central Saint Martins College. Continuing her academic journey, Jiayan is pursuing an MA in Textiles at the Royal College of Art.
Nature serves as Jiayan's muse, echoing the sentiment of the renowned architect Antoni Gaudi, who stated, "Originality consists in returning to the origin." Jiayan holds a deep reverence for the geometry and principles found in nature, drawing inspiration from its captivating organic structures. Her innovative textile designs are rooted in traditional weaving craftsmanship, which she utilizes to bring her ideas to fruition.
