Javiera Shooaie Decap is a Chilean-Iranian, born and raised in Norway, currently studying Fashion at the Royal College of Art. Their practice centres on the examination of the collective interaction between materials, surroundings, and bodily senses. In their design approach, they frequently incorporate somaesthetic philosophy, aiming to induce a deliberate distortion between the garments and the wearer by integrating various elements. They see fashion as a way to create disruption within us. Clothes, being among the most intimate artefacts with which we humans engage, possess the capacity to transcend social constructs, including gender, and politics, and establish connections with our biology and nature.
