"Is seeing always true? "

Based on the question of verbal truth in the post-truth era, our work uses bananas, a commonplace fruit, as a medium. Through an interactive experiment, we engage viewers and encourage them to speculate on the actual state of affairs beneath the skin of a rotting banana. Ultimately, we aim to challenge the audience's reliance on intuitive judgment by exposing the underlying truth.

BACKGROUNDWhen the truth is manipulated? How do we hear? How do we see? How do we think? "Post-truth" is not only a euphemism for lying, but also refers to rumors that ignore the truth and do not care about the facts, with various specious and out-of-context statements, putting the truth behind the emphasis, and finally achieving the effect of making the truth true. In the future, in addition to the media, the truth is also deeply involved in politics, which is the opposite of "facts speak louder than words".
RESEARCH
BANANA
RESEARCHAppeal to emotions and personal beliefs is more effective in influencing public opinion than stating objective facts. In addition, the political bias of mainstream media and the fast transmission of information, the public and politicians no longer trust media reports, everyone can become a news creator in social media, and various one-sided statements are difficult to verify, which is part of the reason for the emergence of post-truth politics.
CASE
BANANA HANDS
THEMEOur theme is based on the phenomenon of mass emotional domination of behavior, reality in the modern information society. With the explosion of information, facts are not allowed to be delayed, yet they are extremely labeled. In this world, facts are no longer important, it is people's feelings that matter; even if they do not have any facts to back them up, they still believe that their feelings are right. Based on this, we try to start from everyday objects and provok people to think deeper.

AIM

This project aims to deeply explore the authenticity of information, the subjectivity of its interpretation, and the societal impact on individual cognition in the post-truth era through art and interactive experiences. By utilizing bananas as a symbolic everyday object, we create an interactive exhibition to simulate and reflect on the process of seeking truth in an environment saturated with bias and distorted information.
