Justice Equality and MisinformationNarrativesDirect Action

Focusing on environmental justice, our team observed the detrimental impact of first-world countries' excessive donation and export of used clothing to third-world countries, highlighting a significant issue within the global fashion industry. The Ellen MacArthur Foundation's report and EPA statistics reveal a surge in clothing production and waste, severely affecting local industries and environments in developing countries like Ghana and Kenya. This imbalance underscores a critical challenge in resource equity and sustainability. As designers, we aim to devise practical solutions for repurposing excess clothing, addressing resource equity, and promoting environmental justice in the clothing industry.
