Brae Valley

Reconnect with objects in your everyday life through an immersive crafting game.
Being DigitalWellbeingPlaySpaces

Brae Valley is a first-person videogame that deals with themes of crafting, resource consumption and management, and planned obsolescence. It offers players a platform to collect, build, craft, disassemble, and re-model with limited resources, utilizing both AR and video game platforms.

“In a culture of throwaway plastics, of built-in obsolescence, how can we treasure the item, the object, the material?”

Through the game, players can explore and interact with resources in both the game world and real-world environments, promoting a deeper understanding of the materials and processes that go into making our everyday items - aiming to bridge the disconnect between consumer and product that is symptomatic of a capitalist society.
